The DMP-A8 includes a reference-grade AKM DAC and analog outputs-it's an all-in-one streamer/DAC. The T8 has no DAC and no analog outputs. Choose the T8 if you have a dedicated DAC or digital-input speakers; choose the DMP-A8 if you need analog outputs.

What is the best output to use?

AES/EBU is preferred for professional equipment and active speakers like Dutch & Dutch. USB is ideal for external DACs that support asynchronous USB. I²S offers the lowest jitter for compatible DACs. Choose based on your DAC's best input.
